UBank Manly Ferry Challenge

The Brief

Drive awareness of UBank by showcasing how fast and easy its home loan application process is – and bring some fun and excitement to the dreaded refinance process. 

Bold Insight

UBank’s primary audience is people with a home loan considering a refinance (rather than new home loan applicants). Or research showed that the number one barrier to people considering refinancing is the time it takes to complete the process.

Brave Idea

Our big idea was to really dramatise how fast and easy UBank’s home loan application process was to overcome the time barrier. To do this, we created the Manly Ferry Challenge – asking a couple to refinance their home loan in the time it takes to travel via ferry from Manly to Sydney. The challenge was relatively simple, in the 25 minutes it takes to cruise from Manly to Sydney, the couple had to fill out all information and hit submit. On the day, the couple actually completed the entire refinance process in 15 minutes – 10 minutes ahead of the goal. 

Brilliant Impact

UBank gained 3,048 new fans, with over 140,295 social impressions and 100% positive sentiment.
